Chesterfield Local Carbon Club

Chesterfield Local Carbon Club

Chesterfield is home to our very first Local Carbon Club.

Designed originally as a pilot site to launch the concept, our first ever Local Carbon Club is now up and running at Monkey Park Community Centre in Brampton, Chesterfield, Derbyshire.

The Club offers a one-stop shop to help local people get great deals on products that help them save money on energy whilst lowering their carbon footprint.

Who runs it?

Melissa Shaw runs the Chesterfield Local Carbon Club

Chesterfield Local Carbon Club is run by Melissa Shaw, who has lived in the area for most of her life.

We asked Melissa to explain why she was excited about Don’t Do Do A Dodo:

“I think community is at the heart of everything, so it makes sense for it to be at the heart of fighting climate change too .

If we wait for government, we could wait forever. Whereas there is a lot we can do for ourselves, both in terms of saving carbon – and cash!”.

What deals are available?

Different deals come along from time to time but right now, we’ve got a fantastic offer on solar photovoltaic panels, to help you generate electricity from the sun.

You can save up to £600 off the price of an installed system by clubbing together with friends and neighbours in the Chesterfield and North Derbyshire area. This will reduce your energy bills for all time, whilst saving a whole lot of carbon.
